TV Week in NON-Review: 15th-19th January

I’m way too busy to do actual recaps, so screen caps for the win! (and twitter sized reviews)

No recap of Once Upon a Time this week, I’ll probably take a look at the episode sometime in the future, because I hate the idea of quitting a show – but it’s hardly a priority for now.

The Good Wife: Season Three, Episode Thirteen; “Bitcoin for Dummies” [B/B+]
Excellent use of guest stars, but maddeningly filler-like in keys spots. Excels in building momentum for ultimate showdown, though.
[Writing: B+; Directing: B+]

Glee: Season Three, Episode Ten; “Yes/No” [C+]
Appalling turns in character development (Will, though Morrison tries) and some zany conclusions. It goes down easy, though, and Mays shines.
[Writing: C+; Directing: B-]

Parenthood: Season Three, Episode Fourteen, “It Is What It Is” [B+]
Firmly in control of its narrative with strong handles on characters’ sensibilities and making the little moments count, as they should in such a show.
[Writing: B+; Directing: B+]

Modern Family: Season Three, Episode Thirteen, “Little Bo Bleep” [B+]
Still, exasperatingly dependent on the issues of thrills but holistically satisfying in the end-all for most of them. The earnestness makes it all coalesce.
[Writing: B+; Directing: B+]

Revenge: Season One, Episode Thirteen; “Commitment”; Season One, Episode Thirteen [B+]
Contains an unfortunate expulsion of a favourite character from the narrative, but a glorious reaffirming of its original purpose AND a great mounting of stakes.
[Writing: B+; Directing: B+]

30 Rock: Season Six, Episode Two; “Idiots are People Too”; Season Six, Episode Two [B+/A-]
Wonderfully and almost giddily evocative of early season work with great plot turns that don’t feel forced. Krakowski and Baldwin excel, Fey shines.
[Writing: A-; Directing: B+]

The Office: Season Eight, Episode Twelve; “Pool Party”; [B]
Kempler is the only who rises above in this episode what has become an almost annoyingly ensemble show. Still, great fun until the last few minutes oversell it,=. [Writing: B/B+; Directing: B/B+]

Parks and Recreation: Season Four, Episode Twelve; “Campaign Ad”; [B/B+]
A minor offering, but hardly a poor one – Ben and Leslie’s conflict is just a bit too cutesy as is April and Andy’s escapades. Charming throughout, though.
[Writing: B/B+; Directing: B/B+]

Grey’s Anatomy: Season Eight Episode Twelve; “Hope for the Hopeless” [B/B+]
Still, flails a bit in balancing drama with the bits of comedy (what gives? S1-S3 depended on that) but a significant episode with moving struggles between Adele and Richard and Cristina and Owen.
[Writing: B+; Directing: B+]

I've watched my usual Grey's & 30 Rock and enjoyed both.

Greys left me curious about next week... I don't like Owen, so I hope they get rid of him. :) I also don't like Lexi & Mark,,, but that would be too nice to see them go
